Child Safe Horizons

Child Safe Horizons works with various international organisations including the UN, INGOs, NGOs, and faith-based organisations on developing child safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as roll out strategies to assist in the prevention of child abuse within organisations. They assist in: research; organisational policies and procedures; developing policies that are in line with donor requirements yet specific to the cultural, programmatic and country needs. They specialise in capacity building of staff and management.

Furthermore, their team includes Child Protection Systems experts with extensive experience in developing programmes and projects including: mapping child protection systems; building the social work profession; community based child protection systems; preventing trafficking and CSEC; codes of conduct and child safe guarding; alternative care; case work / management; child labour; various areas of child protection research; learning and development; and information management.  

Their team also includes Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) experts across Africa, South Asia, South East Asia, the Pacific, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. They have focused on: the Child Protection Minimum Standards; developing family tracing and reunification systems; referral pathways; alternative care; case management; psychosocial support; preventing trafficking and CSEC; child labour; children affected by armed conflict including MRM GCRV; coordination; research; information management; and learning and development.

Child Safe Horizons Learning Academy is committed to delivering high quality, accessible courses in order to assist professionals to understand how to protect children in development and humanitarian organisations, schools, and any other setting where adult staff come into contact with children, either directly or indirectly, ensuring their rights to protection from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
