‘My son is not the same’: New testimony paints bleak picture of family separation

"Last week," says this article from PBS NewsHour, "Democratic attorneys general in 17 states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, arguing that its practice of separating families violated the due process and equal protection clauses of the Fifth Amendment."  The motion filed included "more than 900 pages of declarations that included powerful personal testimonies from parents, children and other family members who were directly impacted by the Trump policy." The NewsHour read through all 99 declarations and pulled out 12 for this article that offer a window into the family separations at the border. The declarations include testimony from parents, officials, advocates, medical experts, and lawmakers.
