Parents’ Legal Aid Wait to Fight Enforced Adoption of Son Inhumane, Says Judge

A child in the UK was removed from his parents’ custody nine months prior to the publication of this article. Since then, the parents have been waiting for legal aid funds to pay for legal counsel and representation in family court as they fight to have their son returned. Meanwhile, the three year-old boy has been living without his parents. Sir James Munby, president of the family division of the high court said of the situation: “the parents can be forgiven for thinking that they are trapped in a system which is neither compassionate nor even humane. Is this really the best we can do?”
