Description
Able Child Africa works with local partners in Africa to break down the barriers to inclusion, empowering children with disabilities to fight for their rights and fulfill their potential. They help build the capacity of local organizations on the ground to ensure they can deliver lasting change in the countries where they work. Activities include:
- Advocating for change in the UK and in the international arena: They work as part of larger networks to push governments and other key change makers to improve existing services and increase opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
- Strengthening the capacity of partners to do advocacy work: Able Child Africa supports their partners to strengthen policy and legal frameworks, to better meet the rights of children and young people with disabilities.
- Facilitating engagement of children and young people with disabilities in the policy arena: They ensure children's voices are heard and they are able to contribute to decisions that affect them.
