The Child and Family Services Reviews are designed to help states in the US improve child welfare services and achieve identified outcomes for families and children who receive services. The reviews are structured to help states identify strengths and areas needing improvement within their agencies and programs.

This factsheet looks at whether States are following best practices in regards to the Indian Child Welfare Act, such as notification of Tribes and placement preferences. Findings from the Reviews are presented.
