State of the Nation’s Foster Care 2016: What foster carers think and feel about fostering

The Fostering Network

Key findings on the state of the United Kingdom’s foster care system by The Fostering Network note that although most foster carers say they want to continue caring for children, only 55% say that they would recommend it to others.  These findings indicate a dissatisfaction with the foster care system.

The report recommends that a learning and development framework for foster carers be implemented covering pre and post-approval training.  The government should also revisit minimum level of fostering allowance.
