Job Title: Technical Advisor, 4Children

Location: South Africa/Johannesburg

 

Job Responsibilities:

Namibia

  • In collaboration with 4Children Technical Advisors and the Namibia country team, provide technical assistance in the reviews, updates and finalization of the case management operational guidance; job aids; training of trainers' modules; regional training modules; updated child Care and Protection Forum guidelines; updated national protection referral network; and other relevant documents.
  • In collaboration with 4Children Technical Advisors and country team, provide technical input in the updated NAC and inter-ministerial matrix.
  • With the country team, provide technical assistance in the development and implementation of the plan for the Kavango pilot with a focus on the supportive supervision.
  • Participate in the Reference Group meetings as well as other meetings with MGECW, UNAM and other relevant stakeholders as required.
  • Support in collaboration with MGECW, in-country team and 4Children Technical Advisors the national scale-up training.

Swaziland

  • In close collaboration with the country team and 4Children Technical Advisors, provide technical assistance in the review and finalization of clear referral pathways and roles and responsibilities for the different stakeholders including job aids and practical guidance on how to refer cases.
  • In close collaboration with the country team and 4Children Technical Advisors, provide technical assistance in the development of a statutory case management handbook, accompanying the case management SOPs.
  • In close collaboration with the country team and 4Children Technical Advisors, provide technical assistance in the development of a statutory case management training modules and support the training of Department of Social Welfare (DSW) social workers.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to the in-country Senior Technical Advisor second to Department of Social Welfare (DSW)t as identified by the in-country Senior Technical Advisor.

Regional

  • In close collaboration with the country team and 4Children Senior Technical Advisors, provide technical assistance to other country buy-in within the region, such as Uganda. This can include remote and on-site technical assistance on how to best apply best practice in social welfare systems strengthening programs and CRS partnership principles, and tools, to ensure high-quality implementation.
  • As required by specific country buy-ins within the region and in close collaboration with Child Protection and Welfare Systems Technical Director and Senior Technical Advisor, provide technical assistance in the development of operational guidance, analysis of existing policy frameworks and related guidance and tools for social welfare workforce training, case management and OVC programming.
  • As required by specific country buy-ins within the region and in close collaboration with Child Protection and Welfare Systems Technical Director and Senior Technical Advisor, contribute to 4Children capacity strengthening initiatives in social welfare workforce training, case management and OVC programming for staff and partner through assisting with the development of learning and training strategies and agendas/curriculums, conducting trainings and workshops, and mentoring and coaching to 4Children project staff, partners and social welfare workforce in buy-in countries.
  • In close collaboration with the 4Children Technical team, contribute to the development and implementation of 4Children regional strategies, standards, tools, and best practices in social welfare workforce training, case management and OVC programming that effectively engage partners, donors and governments.
  • As needed and region and in close collaboration with Child Protection and Welfare Systems Technical Director and Senior Technical Advisor, participate in forums related to social welfare workforce training, case management and OVC programming to collect and share best practices and promote 4Children's work within the region and beyond.
