CEDECA Rio de Janeiro is a non-governmental organization (NGO) created in 2009 to defend and promote the rights of children and adolescents. CEDECA's mission is to promote the prevalence and respect of human dignity through the legal and social defense of the human rights of children and adolescents, social mobilization and popular education.

CEDECA provides legal and social services to guide families and guardians about situations of violation of rights (child labor, abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, death threats, physical and psychological violence, access to school and basic documentation, homelessness, offenses committed by a teenager); to prosecute the Judiciary, the Prosecutor's Office, the Defender's Office and the Guardianship Council in defending the rights of children and adolescents; to report cases of violation of rights; and to propose actions to the government to improve the quality of life of all children and adolescents and their families.
