The Taskforce is a body promoting non-institutional forms of child care system in the State of Orissa. It has come into existence since March 2009 from a workshop organized by Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) on Alternative Forms of care for the Children without parental care. The workshop was attended by a cross section of organizations working on different approaches on child care issues in the state along with W&CD and Unicef. A six member committee has been formed to take this issue further. YCDA has been given the responsibility to coordinate and explore further possibilities of working on the issue.
