This article discusses the concept of "Unaccompanied and Separated Children" and how this concept is applied in Russian law. According to the article, "unaccompanied and separated children," lack any specific guarantees in Russia. "Unaccompanied and separated children" is a term that is not mentioned Russian law related to children or to migrants. This article states that a child separated from parents would be a child without parental care.
Children without parental care do not have the same rights afforded to "unaccompanied and separated children" as pursuant to the CRC. Children left without parental care are provided a placement best suited his/her needs. Russia assumes no obligation to allow parents or other relatives access to the child.
