Roadmap to Ending Child Immigration Detention: Milestones to Include in the Global Compacts

This roadmap to ending the detention of children in immigration from the Initiative for Child Rights in the Global Compacts outlines the commitments, examples of practice, reference documents, and guidelines for each stage of the strategy from June 2019 to June 2025. Stages include:

1. Developing national action plans for ending child immigration detention
2. Reporting on the number of children held in immigration detention each year
3. Developing and implementing child-sensitive alternatives to immigration detentio
4. Reporting on progress in ending child immigration detention in our CRC and UPR reports
5. Prohibiting child immigration detention in law and regulation
