Save the Children Humanitarian Plan 2021: Children Cannot Wait

Save the Children

In this Humanitarian Plan, Save the Children lays out its commitment to applying a rights-based approach to humanitarian action, in line with international human rights and humanitarian law, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Save the Children's response to the COVID-19 crisis is designed to directly support and advocate for children’s right to survive, learn and be protected, and will be delivered through a multi-sectoral response to children’s needs arising from the wide-ranging impacts of COVID-19 on children’s rights. At a global level, Save the Children’s Humanitarian Plan for 2021 will direct technical expertise, surge capacity and flexible funding in response to identified needs and early warning information. Flexible and unrestricted funding will be managed by Save the Children’s Humanitarian Fund, disbursed in line with needs and, where required, targeted to support emergency preparedness, early action, and under-prioritised sectors and crises. The Humanitarian Plan calls attention to groups of children who are particularly vulnerable, including those outside of family care or at risk thereof.
