Family Resilience Project in Uganda

AVSI USA

Between 2015 and 2018, FARE prevented separation and re-separation of children from their families in Kampala and in Wakiso Districts in Uganda. Funded by the ASPIRES project of FHI360, AVSI, together with Retrak, Companionship of Works Association (COWA) and Fruits of Charity Foundation (FCF), was able to help 650 households, including 350 families deemed to be at high risk of child–family separation and 300 children already living outside of family care.

This video presents the work of the FARE family strengthening program in Uganda to prevent separation of families and reintegrate children who are separated from their families, including the story of one young person and his family who were impacted by the program, as well as with the social workers and staff who supported the child and his family.
