The objective of this research project is to contribute to the process of facilitating a more family-like childhood for Russian orphans. This report is based on a pilot study of alternatives to traditional orphanages in Russia. The study is a result of a joint project between the Faculty of Psychology and Social Work at the Pomor University of Arkhangelsk, the Moscow Social State University and the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR), Oslo.
