This presentation describes the mapping of the child protection system in Eastern and Southern Africa. The approach for this mapping included:
- Articulating the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of CP systems
- Building stakeholder consensus to move forward
- Undertaking a nationally owned mapping and assessment: – Formal and informal – From community to national level – Broad consultation, child participation, verification
- Identifying strengths, weaknesses, gaps
- Highlighting priorities, strategizing, cost
- Implementing, learning and adapting
