Vivek S. Sankaran - University of Michigan Law School Scholarship Repository

This paper describes the experiences of parents with child welfare cases in family court. The paper argues the need to build a court process to support parents and keep families together. The paper concludes with a list of action steps "to start building a new child welfare court process, one that seeks to connect with parents by giving them a voice, ensuring their understanding of decisions, reaffirming their confidence in the process and preserving their dignity."
