The Permanent Mission of New Zealand and the Delegation of the European Union will be hosting a Side Event during the 8th Conference of States Parties to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), entitled: ‘Deinstitutionalization, Social Protection and the SDGs: The Way Forward,’ co-organized by Lumos, United Nations Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, and Light for the World. The event will be held on Tuesday, 09 June 2015 from 4:45-6:00 in Conference Room 12 and will feature an interactive discussion on making the rights of children and adults in institutions and the promotion of community or family-based alternatives, global priorities.
