Childs i Foundation have launched a learning partnership between youth with lived experience and final year social work students from Makerere University to develop a youth peer led innovation to address well-being and trauma.

During this webinar, organized by Transform Alliance Africa (TAA), they will talk about how they have developed the innovation in Uganda which is focusing on four key areas: Trauma and Stress, Depression and Suicidal Thoughts and Feelings, Anxiety, and Loss and Grief. The pilot project which is being evaluated for scale will address the gap in integrated mental health and wellbeing support for children at risk and vulnerable youth. Using a trauma informed and healing journey approach, they are upskilling and amplifying the voices of 132 care experienced young people to build their confidence to navigate life after care and in the communities ." 117 of the young people aged 15-25, will go on to support a further 1,170 youth with life and social skills mentoring to enhance well-being and health decisions.
