Consultancy: Coordination and Technical Support for Programming to Prevent and Respond to Violence Against Children, Child Protection Section

The purpose of the consultancy is to assist the Violence against Children team, in the Child Protection Section - UNICEF NYHQ, in various tasks by providing technical expertise and coordination support towards the following:

  • Dissemination and roll-out of UNICEF’s Programme Guidance on Prevention and Responding to Violence against Children (and related programme documents and guidance such as the INPSIRE packge);
  • Building the evidence-based on armed violence and defining lessons learned and outcomes of the SIDA collaboration;
  • Development and implementation of Child Protection’s component of the Safe to Learn campaign with a programmatic focus on violence against children in schools.
  • Other support, as relevant, in advancing violence against children programming and tracking, including assistance in gathering evidence for what works to address violence, abuse and exploitation and assisting in the documentation of proven programmes. Support towards the VAC team knowledge management will be key.

The Consultant will be under the direct supervision and overall guidance of the Child Protection Specialist (VAC) in the Child Protection Section. The consultant will work closely with sections and divisions engaged is the efforts towards addressing violence against children at HQ, RO and CO levels and as well as with partner organisations.
