The University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration (SSA), in collaboration with Chapin Hall, an independent policy research center affiliated with the University of Chicago, seeks candidates for the Harold A. Richman Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. This program is aimed at strengthening the intellectual and research qualifications of outstanding scholars interested in applied research careers focusing on child, youth, and family well-being.
The successful candidate will have a relevant background and particularly benefit from opportunities to pursue research in one or more of the following areas: runaway and homeless youth, capacity building for private human service agencies, evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement in child welfare, supports for low-income families in achieving self sufficiency, and older youth in foster care.
The selected candidate will receive advanced research training through participation on SSA and Chapin Hall research projects and in other learning opportunities at the University of Chicago and aligned with one of the aforementioned areas of research; time and resources to explore and develop independent research ideas; and mentoring by nationally recognized researchers in the field.
This is an in-residence, two-year term appointment. The Fellow will hold the status of postdoctoral fellow at the rank of Instructor (no teaching required). The Researcher must be able to begin the position between September 1, 2016 and January 1, 2017. The Fellow will receive $52,000 per calendar year and an opportunity to participate in the University of Chicago’s benefit program. Moving expenses are the responsibility of the individual.
