Supported by a grant from the Martin James Foundation, the Alliance will soon be implementing a new project to mobilise the experiences and knowledge of care-experienced youth, family members and innovative social service workers to identify strengths and weaknesses in social service workforce practice to ensure effective and lasting transition from reliance on residential institutions to focus on enabling family and community-based care when possible. The Alliance seeks an international consultant to carry out the following project activities from October 2023 through February 2025:
- conduct a participatory assessment with care-experienced youth, family members and social service workers in three countries to determine the current competencies and capacity of the social service workforce to achieve family-based care;
- document and share the experience of those individuals through various forms of media; and
- develop new training and advocacy tools based on the documented experience.
Applications should be submitted to contact@socialserviceworkforce.org and must include a CV or resume, a professional writing or research sample similar in nature to this consultancy and daily rate. Deadline to apply is 18 September 2023.
