International Rescue Committee is seeking a Regional Coordinator, Unaccompanied Children for its New York office.  The Regional Coordinator, Unaccompanied Children coordinates all aspects of program implementation, service delivery and monitoring across the East Coast region defined for the program. The position is accountable for ensuring successful and timely delivery of case management services of the Home Study and Post Release team in accordance with IRC contractual terms. S/he may also be responsible for carrying an individual caseload and for providing direct services to families as needed. This Regional Coordinator will establish and maintain relationships with UC-HSPR teams in each USP field office, and subcontractors in the East Coast region and monitor their service provision according to the terms of their agreements. The Regional Coordinator is the primary liaison to the Heartland Human Case Services on programs and services.

Major Responsibilities:

Case Management Coordination

  • Coordinate case management services of the Home Study and Post Release case management team and to regional subcontracted agencies.
  • Ensure timely assignment of cases in need of HSPR services to local UC staff, maintaining appropriate caseload levels to meet contractual duties
  • Provide technical support to IRC UC case management staff and affiliating providers on case management practice, including crisis intervention, documentation, referral network development among others

Supervisory and liaison duties

  • Provide secondary supervision to UC case management staff in participating IRC field offices. coordinate closely with local direst supervisors
  • Provide direct input and support to local supervisors on the recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management of all UC program staff.
  • Hold weekly team meetings UC case management staff in IRC’s field offices in the region
  • Liaise regularly with direct supervisors of field-based UC staff on program progress.
  • Coordinate access to training and ongoing technical support to all IRC UC-HSPS staff

Program Management

  • Ensure the consistent maintenance of accurate records on all UC-HSPR services delivered and adherence to the norms of confidentiality of information
  • Monitor case files, database entries and other program records for quality and accuracy
  • Coordinate the production and timely delivery of all reports to the donor on program progress
  • Liaise with regionally subcontracted partners on technical service delivery and general program implementation
  • Communicate regularly with designated staff at HHCS about program progress
  • Coordinate, working closely with resource acquisition and related teams, the development of supplemental funding proposals to enhance program quality and sustainability
  • Represent IRC’s UC services to internal and external stakeholder, as assigned.
  • Report regularly to USP Leadership about program progress
  • Other duties as assigned

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Position reports to: Senior Director, Program Quality & Innovation

The Regional  Coordinator maintains close working relationships with:  technical UC-HSPR  staff in the field office, their supervisor and Executive Directors;  with the assigned post-award grants manager for UC awards;  the HSPR program staff in the affiliated subcontracted agencies in the East Coast Region; and responsible HSPR staff at contracting agency HHCS. Additionally the Regional Coordinator will work with USP teams including the Program Quality & Innovation unit, Research, Analysis and Learning unit, Resource Acquisition and Management, among others.  

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social work, education, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral or social services field, or equivalent.  
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience, such as child welfare, family preservation, kinship care or similar
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is required
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time and meet deadlines, and proven ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication, teambuilding and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to write and edit ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong track record of external and public relations with partners and donors
  • Prior experience working with refugee or immigrant populations preferred
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time within the East Coast region.
