About the role
Do you have an understanding of the international development sector? Do you have knowledge of key issues in violence against children, child protection and child care, in different regions around the world? Are you able to work successfully across different actors, cultural contexts and technical areas? Do you have sound project management skills and are you highly organised? If yes then we are looking for you!
We are seeking a Programme Officer (maternity cover) with a focus on our Prevention of Violence Against Children programme portfolio. This role is key to supporting the successful delivery of Family for Every Child’s work on prevention of violence against children and effective advocacy initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will need experience of working with local civil society organisations, networks and of communicating effectively across all levels of an organisation. As all of our secretariat staff work remotely, previous experience of this will also be essential.
Excellent command of English (oral and written) is a must, and a working knowledge of other languages (especially Spanish or Portuguese) is desirable.
A good understanding of, and empathy with, the mission of Family for Every Child is a must.

This role is home-based, and support for home office set up, including IT equipment is available. There is an expectation that regardless of time zone, the job holder will need to work flexibly to support work with colleagues in different time zones.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the development of portfolio projects and member activity plans, budgets and grant agreements
- Working with members to ensure that projects are delivered within realistic timeframes and within the agreed budget
- Supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation of projects

Location
Flexible, home based, anywhere in the UK. We require proof of entitlement to work in the UK.
Salary
Salary: £20,800 – £24,000 – 0.8 FTE
(Based on a full time salary of £26,000 – £30,000 FTE)
