Save the Children International is looking to hire a Senior Coordinator, Child Protection, Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, to be based in its Geneva office.   The senior coordinator role is a global, inter-agency role managing global level partnerships in order to improve results for children at country level.   Specifically, the senior coordinator co-leads, together with a UNICEF counterpart, the work of a group of agencies convened under the agreed collective goal of ensuring that the efforts of national and international actors are of high quality and effective in protecting children in humanitarian settings.  

The work of this group, which the senior coordinator is responsible for co-leading, aims to achieve the following four outcomes:  

  1. Humanitarian agencies meet agreed standards of quality programming;
  2. Agency specific and inter-agency evidence is generated and used in order to promote effective interventions;
  3. The child protection in emergencies work force (humanitarian, government and community actors) is strengthened; and
  4. There is an increased support and funding for child protection in emergencies.
