10 Manipuri children, including 9 girls, repatriated from Kerala

Ten children who were allegedly taken to Kerala, India with the promise of better care and education have been repatriated to their home states, according to this article from the Deccan Herald. Nine girls had been taken to Ciesco Girls Home and one boy to Calicut Orphanage, but all were sent back to their home states per an order from the Child Welfare Committee. An official statement noted that "a Child's own family is the best and safest place for overall development and growth of the child," says the article.
