The Ministry for Families and Children of the Parliament of Victoria, Australia has announced it will invest nearly $3 million over two years to fund initiatives to reduce the number of Aboriginal children and young people in out-of-home care in Victoria. The Government will be partnering with Aboriginal communities and community-based organizations to transition child protection services to Aboriginal organizations, improve access to resources for Aboriginal children and families, help Aboriginal children in care stay connected with their culture, and provide more support to Aboriginal children leaving care, among other activities.
