Rena Sarumpaet - SBS News

The Australian parliament held a recent inquiry in preparation for a Modern Slavery Act which examined the connections between modern slavery and orphanage trafficking. The inquiry included testimony from a young woman who had been trafficked in an orphange in Cambodia, forced to work in the orphanage director's rice field and perform for tourists and volunteers at the orphanage to solicit donations. This article includes a short video which shows the young woman, Sinet Chan, telling her story during the inquiry proceedings.
