An orphanage in Ponnurunni, India has recently come under police investigation for alleged abuse and assault of the children who reside there, according to this article from the Deccan Chronicle. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has taken statements from all 24 children in the home and have instructed management to shut down the institution "if it failed to get itself registered under the Juvenile Justice Act."
