The US city of Philadelphia’s Department of Human Services and Office of Homeless Services have partnered to develop a new program aimed at giving priority affordable housing for people whose children are in the custody of child welfare, according to this article from WHYY. "In Philadelphia," says the article, "not having a safe, stable place to live prevents parents whose children have been placed in foster care from regaining custody 40 percent of the time — 10 percent higher than the national average — according to a recent study by the city." The program, "Rapid Rehousing for Reunificiation," which was rolled out at the end of May 2018, will aim to serve 30 families in its first year.
