Better Care Network Netherlands has launched a campaign aimed at stopping higher education institutions in the Netherlands from offering student internships in orphanages, part of a broader global movement to bring an end to orphanage tourism and promote responsible forms of volunteering and service. In this interview, Learning Service speaks with Lecturer and Coordinator of Internationalization, Marlinde Melissen, to explain why Fontys University School of Pedagogical Studies decided to take the pledge to stop offering orphanage internships.
