This issue of the BCN newsletter highlights some of the latest research and other resources regarding Indigenous children in care, particularly the current overrepresentation of Indigenous children in child welfare and care systems, as well as the historical overuse of child removals and separation of Indigenous families, among other issues. The newsletter also features the newly published full text of the 2019 UN Resolution on the Rights of the Child with a focus on children without parental care, a briefing note on the implications of Australia's Modern Slavery Act for those entities who have orphanages in their supply chains and/or operations, and other resources related to children's care.
