EU nationals fear Brexit will tear carers from their families

James Tapper - The Guardian

This article from the Guardian describes the increasing fears of EU citizens living in the UK who are not working, but providing full-time care to family members, and worrying that they may be deemed "illegal migrants" and forced to leave the UK and their families. Ivana Bugler, a Slovakian woman living in the UK and providing full-time care for her two sons with autism and her husband who has a medical impairment, states “I talk about this with a friend who also has an autistic son who is Czech. Sometimes we’re crying our eyes out – what is going to happen? Are they going to separate us? It’s heartbreaking.” She adds, "what makes me angry is when there was a campaign for leave or remain, nobody was talking about the issues these mixed families would face.”
