Priscila Rodriguez interview - infanticide and abuse in Kenya

Focus in Africa - BBC World News

This video from Focus in Africa, BBC World News highlights findings from a recent Disability Rights International (DRI) report which explores the practice of infanticide of children born with disabilities in Kenya. According to the video, over a two year period, DRI interviewed 90 women who said they were pressured to kill their children because the children were believed to be "cursed" and were shunned in their communities for choosing to keep their children. Some of the children with disabilities who are not killed are sent to live in institutions.
