Description

Jabali Foundation works to ensure that every child under the age of three are not unnecessarily separated from their families and when separation is inevitable, they are placed in a suitable family based environment as opposed to an orphanage. The services they offer under this platform are:

  • Support services and respite foster care for families/mothers in temporary crises. Services include counselling, parenting skills training and linkage with economic empowerment programs
  • Emergency foster care for abandoned babies
  • Family tracing and reintegration

Jabali also works to make domestic adoption acceptable and accessible to the majority of Kenyans through elimination of common barriers. Adoption services include:

  • Pre-adoption and post-adoption counselling
  • Support and training on self legal representation
  • Parenting skills training
  • Production and dissemination of adoption information, education and communication (IEC) materials

Additionally, Jabali works to generate evidence, formulate and implement strategies and activities to influence national and county government laws, policies, practices and perceptions. They engage the community through strategic partnerships with local churches and robust social media campaigns to inform, animate and organize communities around the course of ensuring every child grows up in a family.
