WHAT:  A comprehensive guide to training young people on the development of life skills, such as communication, decision-making, and relationships. The manual consists of over 50 different experiential lesson plans, special sections on HIV/AIDS & STDs and peer education, and numerous warm-ups, games, and other exercises for keeping trainings interactive.

WHO:  Social and community workers, trainers, caregivers, and residential staff involved in supporting young people, including children in child headed households. 

WHERE:  Although originally developed in Africa, this manual has been edited for global relevance.  Adaptation to local culture and context is recommended.

WHY:  The manual is useful in building skills for healthy behavior, critical thinking and leadership so that youth feel capable and in control of their life choices, and engage as role models for their peer groups.
