Ekisa Ministries supports children with disabilities so they can thrive in families and communities. They envision a world where every child grows up in a family, celebrated and loved, despite his or her disability. Their vision sees the end of discrimination of children and adults living with disabilities in Uganda and hopes for celebration of differences. They also dream of the day when no more children need institutionalized care. Ekisa gives respite to children who need love and care, and empowers parents and families to best care for their children.

What They Do
The mission of Ekisa Ministries, a Christian faith-based organization, is to improve the quality of life for children living with special needs in Uganda. This is accomplished through three core programs: Residential Care, Community Care, and Special Education. Ekisa offers temporary residential care for children while awaiting placement in family-based care and supports families with children with special needs to enable them to stay together. Ekisa Ministries also has a school for children with special needs.
