The aim of this Technical Note is to support child protection practitioners and government officials in their immediate response to the child protection concerns faced by children who are at risk of separation or in alternative care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This accompanying annex document to the Inter-agency Technical Note on the Protection of Children during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Children and Alternative Care provides helpful tips to promote the engagement and participation of all stakeholders, which is central to maintaining continuity of services for children.

Scopul acestei Note Tehnice este de a sprijini specialiștii din domeniul protecției copilului și funcționarii Guvernului în a reacționa imediat la îngrijorările privind protecția copilului, cu care se confruntă copiii expuși riscului de a fi separați de familie sau cei aflați în îngrijire alternativă în perioada pandemiei de COVID-19.

The aim of this Technical Note is to support child protection practitioners and government officials in their immediate response to the child protection concerns faced by children who are at risk of separation or in alternative care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This webinar provides an overview of the issue of nurturing care during the COVID-19 pandemic, with lessons learned from past emergency contexts, current data on the prevalence of violence against children, presentation of guides and strategies to promote the protection of children and country presentations on strategies being currently implemented. 

In this joint statement, 21 global leaders in child protection call for an urgent, united effort to address violence against children as part of the broader response to COVID-19.

In this Guiding Note, the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) expresses its grave concern on the ongoing global outbreak of COVID-19 virus and strongly recommends Members States of the African Union integrate child protection measures in their responses to the global pandemic of COVID-19.
