The Child Protection Monitoring and Evaluation Reference Group’s (CP MERG) Technical Working Group on Data Collection on Violence against Children conducted a review of quantitative studies on violence against children in order to give an overview of recent data-collection activities that will inform the development of guidelines for further data collection. This report presents the findings from the Working Group’s review. The review focuses on data that have been collected in low and middle-income countries, however, some higher-income countries were reviewed as well. The report includes an assessment of the Study on Child Abuse in India, whose target group included children in institutional care and children living on the streets.
