Webinar Recording: Parent and Caregiver Support in the Second Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children

ECDAN

The 2024 Global Ministerial Conference marked a historic milestone in the global movement to end violence against children, generating over 400 pledges from more than 110 Member States. This momentum was made possible in part by the strong engagement and collective efforts of governments, technical experts, and advocates across sectors.

The Second Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children, to be hosted by the Government of the Philippines in partnership with WHO and UNICEF on 18–19 November 2026, offers a new opportunity to build on this progress and translate commitments into action.

This webinar, hosted by ECDAN, explored how parent and caregiver support can be positioned at the heart of this agenda. Building on the momentum from Bogotá, the session focused on how partners working at the country level can support strong government pledges for the Second Ministerial Conference — including strengthening existing commitments, pledging new commitments, and increasing financing for parenting support.

Participants reflected on progress since the first Ministerial Conference, review emerging evidence and analysis on parent and caregiver support pledges, and discuss specific actions advocates working in-country can take in the lead-up to Manila.

The webinar also introduced key resources and provide a space for structured discussion on how partners can engage governments, shape ambitious pledges, and help advance the collective goal of achieving universal parenting support.
