This short document outlines UNICEF’s responses to a number of frequently-asked questions surrounding programming for psychosocial support (PSS). It covers the fundamentals of PSS for children, including key definitions, basic principles, and situations in which PSS interventions might be adopted. It also outlines interventions that UNICEF would discourage for use as PSS interventions. Lastly, it contains a list of recommended materials to support and monitor PSS interventions.
