Udayan Care, a non-profit agency in India, organized a two-day international seminar on ‘Improving Standards of Care for Alternative Child and Youth Care: Systems, Policies and Practices’ on on 18-19 March 2016. The conference paid special attention to “the trajectory of the lives of many children who are likely to end up in alternative settings.” The conference addressed the issues of institutionalized children, their aftercare and the transition of institutionalized children and the issues faced by the childcare givers.
