Over the past fifteen years, the National Standards have become an important policy framework guiding child welfare institutions throughout Indonesia. Nevertheless, despite the existence of this comprehensive regulatory framework, child protection challenges remain substantial. Reports continue to indicate cases of violence against children, neglect, exploitation, trafficking, institutionalization without proper assessment, and inconsistent implementation of quality care standards across regions and institutions. These realities suggest that while policies have been established, ensuring their effective implementation remains an ongoing challenge.
This webinar aims to reflect upon, discuss, and evaluate the implementation of Indonesia's National Standards for Child Care fifteen years after the issuance of Minister of Social Affairs Regulation No. 30/HUK/2011. The event will bring together key stakeholders from government institutions, international organizations, civil society, practitioners, and academics to exchange experiences, lessons learned, and future perspectives on strengthening child care systems in Indonesia.
