Call For Papers: Foster Care India - National Level Consultation on Promoting Non-Institutional Alternative Care

Foster Care India invites child protection experts and scholars to submit papers for a two-day “National Level Consultation on Promoting Non Institutional Alternative Care" in Rajasthan with the support of UNICEF. The event will be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 16 & 17th July 2014.

The overall objective of this consultation is to share experiences, knowledge, barriers, gaps and scope in developing the best model for NIAC in Rajasthan. The specific aims of the consultation are to recognize and share best practices on ‘Non-Institutional Alternative Care’ in other states, discuss challenges, opportunities and modes of risk management of the best practices, recognize Rajasthan’s perspective on the best model of NIAC, and to develop an action plan for Non-Institutional Alternative Care in Rajasthan.

The topics for presentation include: foster care, kinship care, adoption, sponsorship, and after care. Presentations will be conducted in English but papers should be submitted in both English and Hindi and the papers should include an overall scenario, best model, barriers, opportunities, gaps, and scope of a particular topic.
