Care-experienced young people’s interactions with the police

This guest blog post for the Howard League, written by Sam Turner of the charity Become, explores what care-experienced young people in the UK have told the charity about their interactions with the police. The post features the voice of care-experienced young people themselves. "We need to challenge the stigma faced by care-experienced young people, demand better listening from professionals including the police, and improve everyone’s understanding of what it means to be in or leaving care. The 75,000 looked after children in England and all those who have experienced time in care deserve nothing less," concludes Turner.
