Country Care Profile: Kenya

Better Care Network and UNICEF

The Better Care Network (BCN), in partnership with key stakeholders, launched a series of Country Care Profiles in 2014 to analyze and document national care system reform efforts around the world. These profiles aim to strengthen care reform globally and regionally by sharing insights on progress, challenges, and effective strategies. Following the 2019 UN General Assembly Resolution on the rights of children without parental care, the initiative reflects growing international commitment to family-based care, deinstitutionalization, reintegration, and stronger child protection systems. By facilitating information exchange and building a community of practice, the profiles seek to foster collaboration among governments, donors, and organizations to promote safe, nurturing family-based care for all children.
