Displacement Situation in Haiti (Round 8)

International Organization for Migration (IOM)

This IOM report reveals that there are more than 700,000 people currently displaced within Haiti, 52% of whom are children. Haiti is experiencing an unprecedented crisis that has affected the entire population, including the many orphanages operating there.

Round 8, which took place from August 1 to September 4, 2024, indicates the presence of 702,973 internally displaced persons in Haiti, almost 22% more than in Round 7 which took place in June 2024.

The armed attacks in the municipality of Gressier are the main reason for this increase.
