This study examined factors influencing depression among adolescents living in orphanages in Central Aceh Regency, Indonesia. Using a cross-sectional design with 302 participants aged 8–18, researchers found that 40% of respondents experienced depression, with significant links to education, region of origin, family visits, social support, and social discrimination. Social support emerged as the most dominant protective factor, underscoring its critical role in adolescent mental health.
