The 2024 Global Ministerial Conference marked a historic milestone, generating over 370 pledges from more than 100 member states to end violence against children. To translate these commitments into real chance for the one billion affected children, we must ensure action – guided by evidence, shared experiences, and the voices of children, youth, and survivors.
The Digital Dialogue series, facilitated by WHO and UNICEF, offers a platform for governments, civil society, and experts to share implementation strategies for the pledges and promote best practices. The second in the Digital Dialogues series brought together over 400 participants to explore the critical intersection between care reform and the prevention of violence against children. Co-hosted by Better Care Network, Lumos, UNICEF, and WHO, this global session highlighted concrete actions and commitments following the 2024 Bogotá Ministerial Conference. Government leaders, thematic experts, and child rights advocates shared country experiences and regional efforts to reform child protection systems and promote safe, family-based care. From Ukraine to Kenya, speakers underscored the urgency of integrated approaches to ending institutional violence and ensuring no child is left invisible.
