This evaluation assesses two alternative care reform projects in Cambodia that share a common aim of strengthening child protection systems from grassroots to national levels. This includes reform of the alternative care system in favour of family-based care.
The evaluation found that these projects had an impact on alternative care system and services in Cambodia, including increased oversight of residential care institution and reintegration of children into their communities, and a strengthened focus on family-based care. It concludes with recommendations for ways to strengthen programming in this area.
