The Scottish Independent Care Review presents an in-depth examination of all aspects of care in Scotland and was conducted in consultation with over 5,500 people impacted by, or involved in, the care system, over half of whom were children and young people with experience of the ‘care system’, adults who have lived in care, and their families. The final reports of the Review were launched on 5 February 2020. After its launch, several organizations issued statements in support of the Review and its call to action, outlining their commitment to ensuring the rights and wellbeing of children and families in Scotland and listening to their voices.
